Great service. Friendly staff. Great food
Has a new look from the old owners. Staff was friendly and quick. Food was delicious and everyone left full and happy.
Excellent friendly sevice and great food!
Excellent ice cream. I had the butter pecan and enjoyed it thoroughly. Rich, creamy, delicious.
The box tenderloin (fritter) was over cooked, the fries were deep fried several times, some were hot and crispy, some were undercooked and several were brown from being deep fried several times. We had the special was chicken strips, I did not taste or see chicken. The texas toast was good. The waitress was nice and polite however the service was a little slow. For a party of five our bill was over $70 plus tip and no one ate all their food. We will NOT be returning.
I just have to say I ate there today they changed the ranch I can definitely taste a difference The range there was the bomb,The biscuits and gravy were good but hardly any gravy basically Had a dry biscuit
Great service. Great food. A favorite place to eat or get ice cream.
We were passing through and my wife was born in Shelbyville and wanted to go to the Cow Palace as she remembered it from her childhood. The food was just okay. I had the tenderloin which obviously was purchased frozen and tossed in the deep fryer. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger club sandwich which arrived cold and seemed bland and tasteless. The kids had the cheeseburger kid's meals, which seemed better than our meals. After dinner we ordered ice cream before we left. It is the same commodity ice cream you can get at any other ice cream shop. Nothing special. I had ordered a chocolate malt and didn't realize until we left that they had forgotten to add the malt and it was just a plain milkshake. We likely won't be returning, even if we are in town.
Very good. Lots of options both meal and dessert. It's gotten better than before with previous owners.
Great steak dinner.
A little pricier than I like but I did enjoy it. The fries were thick krinkle cut and cooked almost perfectly (crispy outside and mush inside). I got what was basically a grilled cheese burger. The presentation was lacking, but three bites in I knew I had made the right choice. There aren't many places where you can drink Pepsi with your burger, but this is one. Its under new ownership so as long as they keep it up, it should do well.
We stopped in for our first visit just to get an ice cream cone. The gentleman that assisted us was kind and courteous. The ice cream was pretty good, but they didn't have as wide of selection as I was thinking they would have. I think there were between 10 to 20 flavors. Are simple ice cream cones were worth the stop.
I was out riding my Fatbike in the snow and stopped in for a hot chocolate. $2.48! Kinda high. Should have been more chocolatey for that much but I guess it did the job.
Just got a new owner and it is way better than it used to be. Would definitely recommend. Especially the ice cream.
The blue moon ice cream tasted like sandalwood
Friendly workers , great food, an absolute Jewell to have in a community .
Really good food. Great Service. Eat there often.
The restaurant doubles as an ice cream parlor. The place was almost full still at 1:30 in the afternoon. I'd definitely classify the Cow Palace as quick, fair priced, and tasty dining. My wife ordered the small tenderloin, and I got the regular. The small sandwich serves a 4.5 oz loin and the regular is a 6oz. Our sandwiches were cooked to perfection! They were crispy on the outside and hot'n juicy on the inside. I asked for some pickle slices on the side and then threw them straight on the sandwich with a squirt of mustard for a little bit of acidity. The waffle fries were well seasoned and paired quite nicely with our hot sandwiches. The fish was fried very well. It was lightly battered and not too greasy. The Cow Palace is a cool little gem here in Shelbyville. I'll definitely be returning the next time I'm in town.
This place has the best food. We drove 45 minutes to get here for lunch and it was worth it. The people are friendly and the service was great. We just went there again and although they have changed ownership, the food was just as good and the people are still very friendly and helpful. I love this place.
Great place to eat and relax. Very laid back and such friendly atmosphere! The food, desserts and people are #1 in our new place to eat from now on!
We came here for some ice cream and it honestly wasn't that bad. I have to admit though it tastes like it came out of a grocery store tub of ice cream. There was nothing spectacular about it but like I said it wasn't bad.It certainly has a mom and pop feel to it though. The moment you walk in you can feel it. I can't speak for the restaurant part of the store but it looked typical.
Nice place to grab breakfast.
Excellent food. Fish sandwich was flaky and flavorful. Pork tenderloin sandwich was delicious. The house made coleslaw is out if this world. This is not a quick stop for lunch, so if you don’t have the time to slowly enjoy your meal you may want to head somewhere else.
Rather disappointed. Been here before and had good experience. Not busy at all for breakfast. Waitress was more interested in talking to someone for six minutes. We had to ask other waitress for coffee refills. Food was barely lukewarm when we got it.
Very good.
A lot of people love this place and talk it up a lot. I thought it was just alright. The food seemed kind of on the cheaper end. Maybe I'll give it another shot and order something different.
Although the Cow Palace is no longer in business,it was a decent place to buy ice cream and milkshakes. Before Cow Palace changed ownership several years ago,I would have rated the original Cow Palace a 4 to 5 star rating for taste alone.
Great cheeseburgers. Little skimpy on fries though. VERY clean restrooms. Good service. Great parking. Nice place. We'll be back for sure
Great food, great service!!
Good ice cream & a few outdoor tables. There is also a trail you can walk on across the street. Great place to go to on a nice day out.
Amazing staff, ice cream was great!
Great ice cream, hand dipped, great customer service, clean.
Great mom and pop type restaurant that serves up the usual burgers, tenderloins, etc, but they are also a homemade ice cream shop too. So save room for dessert. Prices are average and serving sizes are large. Nice place to eat.
Food was outstanding band the milkshakes were out of this world
My kiddos love the clown cones with blue moon ice cream!
A Shelbyville icon. A must for both residents and visitors.
Excellent food and service.
Great ice cream. Had the Reuben excellent. Will definitely be going back.
The golden bear burger is very good, the ice cream is great, my server was very sweet and attentive.
They needed more help. The young girl that was working had to run crazy but did a great job. The fries was cold also.
The ice cream selection was good, and the service was okay. There was no one there when we walked in and it took a while for someone to notice we were there and serve us.
It was all right but little high
Great ice cream, great prices, be sure to try the peanut butter sundae!
I never been before yesterday. But the shake wasn't worth $7.00. Maybe $2.00. I ordered a large Peanut Butter Hot Fudge, Extra Thick... Well it hardly had any flavor of the peanut butter, and like a spoon full of chocolate fudge. It honestly tasted like a vanilla shake that maybe had some dirt in it. Arby's has a way better shake. Cheaper too.
Great service and a wide variety of ice cream flavors and sundae type configurations available. They also have excellent dinner choices however this particular visit we simply enjoyed a little ice cream inside a friendly and cozy atmosphere. I've been to this establishment so many times over the years and it is never disappointing. Would highly recommend eating here or enjoying a milkshake, sundae, or a few scoops of a unique ice cream that is bound to put a smile on your face. By the way, I had the 'Blue Moon' flavored ice cream and I will tell you it was phenomenal. If you like the cereal fruity pebbles, try a scoop of Blue Moon. Don't over think it, just try it and you will be impressed...
Palace burger was amazing. Clean establishment
Ever since they transferred ownership a little while back, it hasn't been the same. The ice cream isn't as good, but it's still above Meijer brand. Probably. I also saw a shipping label when one of the workers had to lift the bucket out to get the bottom from Shirley's, so I don't believe it's being made in-house with many of the flavors anymore, if at all.
The best hand dipped ice cream and malts on the planet. The butter pecan is amazing!
Visited 7/19/2020 The place is clean, not all employees are wearing masks but I’m okay with it since it makes it feel “normal”. The ice cream selection is limited to 18 flavors. Sounds like a lot but in reality it isn’t. Staff is friendly... a must visit
Ice creams seems expensive compared to other places we go. But nice place. Nice workers.
